Why Arsenal Wonderkid Max Dowman Is Banned From EA FC 27 — Lamine Yamal Precedent Explained

Why Arsenal Wonderkid Max Dowman Is Missing From EA FC 27 — The Lamine Yamal Link

If you are an Arsenal fan who has already jumped onto EA FC 27, you may have noticed someone is missing.

Max Dowman.

The 16-year-old has been making plenty of noise in football circles and is widely regarded as one of Arsenal’s brightest young talents. So naturally, fans were curious to see whether the teenager would finally make his way into EA FC 27.

But there is a pretty simple reason why he is not there just yet.

Dowman is still only 16.

Despite his rapid rise and growing reputation, he has not yet signed his first professional contract with Arsenal. Under Premier League rules, a player cannot sign his first professional terms until he turns 17.

That creates a problem when it comes to getting him officially into EA Sports' hugely popular football game.

And there is actually a very familiar example for Arsenal fans to look at.

Lamine Yamal went through something similar.

When EA Sports FC 24 launched, Yamal was only 16 and had already started attracting serious attention at Barcelona. Yet he was not included in the game's launch database.

Once he turned 17, though, things changed — and he was eventually added.

So could Max Dowman be next?

There is a good chance.

Arsenal have already agreed terms with Dowman on a scholarship deal, with his professional future effectively lined up for when he reaches the required age.

And that important date is December 31.

Once Dowman turns 17, he should be able to take the next step towards becoming a professional player. That could then pave the way for EA Sports to add him to EA FC 27 in a future squad update.

For Career Mode fans, that is probably the most exciting part.

Imagine signing Dowman early and watching him develop into a superstar. What rating will EA give him? Will his potential be high enough to make him one of the game's best wonderkids? And could Arsenal fans eventually be controlling him alongside the club's established stars?

For now, though, patience is required.

Do you think Max Dowman should already be in EA FC 27, or is EA right to wait until he turns 17?

And the big one — what overall rating would you give Dowman when he finally arrives?

Let us know in the comments and share this with an Arsenal or EA FC fan who has been wondering where the youngster is.

It was the kind of save that can easily be overlooked when a team goes on to win comfortably, but Raya’s intervention proved important.
